The new Italian electronic communication Code

On December 9, 2021, Legislative Decree 8/11/2021, n.207, which implements DIRECTIVE (EU) 2018/1972 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 11 December 2018 establishing the European Electronic Communications Code has been published on the Italian Official Journal. The new electronic communication Code will be applicable from December 24, 2021.

Under the new Code, the authorization is required for the provision of electronic communications networks or services other than number independent interpersonal communication service (article 4, par.2).
